The Importance of Rhythm In The Conversations We Have.

Become a composer of conversation.

How important is the rhythm in the conversations we have?

Tonality: The character of a piece of music as determined by the key in which it is played or the relations between the notes of a scale or key.

Modality: A particular mode in which something exists or is expressed.

How a composer puts notes together will make an upbeat or sombre song. Either evokes an emotional response in a listener.

Our words and how we put them together do the same. Tonality is the body language of vocabulary. To evoke trust, rapport and connection, it needs rhythm similar to an upbeat tune.

Listen to the rhythm of speech you use when speaking to a work or business colleague vs family or friends?

The tone and speed of the words (notes)predict the way(emotional response)the conversation goes.

Notice your personal vs professional tone.

How do you show up verbally?

Could you fine-tune it to reflect your head and heart values?

Would that help your interpersonal skills in life and business?

To master tonality, we need to increase self- awareness and EQ. We then control how we respond to the words we and others use and the emotions they evoke.

With increased self-awareness and EQ, the better the piece of music will be.

We become the composers of our conversations.
